Singapore, June 25 : Western countries were urged Monday to stop the China blame game and work with developing nations to fix global warming problems, said business and government leaders at the World Economic Forum on East Asia meeting in Singapore.

Singling out China is pointless, said Nor Mohamed Yakcop, Malaysia's second minister of finance. "It's wrong. There should not be hypocrisy," he added.

I have done a lot of research on the coal to oil issue and it is all about finding additional markets for coal for Peabody. The USA’s largest producer of fossil fuels.

The CEO of Peabody sold 9,600 shares of his stock at a high mark and picked up a nifty quarter of a million dollars in stock profit. That's $360, 00.Lookd a little different when you print the numbers. Why?

IT IS “THE BUZZ” GOING ON IN WASHINGTON AND ACROSS THE USA ABOUT HOW COAL TO OIL WILL BE A BIG BOOST FOR CONSUMERS. That’s bull dunk. It will be a great deal if you are a Peabody stock holder that bought into Peabody several years ago at $8.50 per share and sold recently for a high of $50.00. The BUZZ is Peabody stock with this new technology couyld go as high as $60.00 per share. Pretty good deal if you are an investor. Bad deal if you are breathing poison air.

If the Kentucky General Assembly offers the incentives to Peabody, one day you will see media reports about General Assembly, talking about subsidies for Peabody when the price of COAL TO OIL drops below a break even margin.

Not long ago there was a clip on CBS SIXTY MINUTES with the Governor of Montana, I think it was, and he was talking about how this technology would reduce our dependence on foreign oil. I thought after the SIXTY MINUTES CLIP about the issue and started to do some research on the net.

What I found mostly was Peabody Energy will not be able to build this facility by simply taking a 30% equity factor in the project. Butttttttttt . . . If the Government backs it, then the investors will come. They know the government will bail them out if things don't work out. Just like Barbra Bush sold her Enron stock before the price went down.
Think she has inside information?

In time we will know how much money Peabody and other energy companies donated to the
confidential LEGAL FUND to save this Governors hind end.

Coal to Oil is not the solution. I don't have the solution either, but I am damn sure against releasing more greenhouse gasses that cause GLOBAL WARMING.

Oh, I forgot GW does not buy into “GLOBAL WARMING” just like his buddies in the OIL BUSINESS.

Interesting comments, Jim. Thanks for posting.

What intrigues me is China. How does anyone realistically expect any progress on the environment when a) China is in complete DENIAL over the situation and, b) has decided the best strategy is the BLAME GAME vs. the United States.
